I visited the Beekeepers in July of 2021, during the hottest week of the year. We swam every day, drank wine and wrote songs for my second album.
I find it hard to describe the magic of this place. There’s something alien and indescribable about the energy of the house and the gardens.
We walked into Ballyvaughan and ate seafood regularly.
Daithi and Norma are caring and deadly hosts. I will come back here at every opportunity, and the Beekeepers will always hold a special place in my life.

Nearly every piece of music that I have created has been written in small houses along the west coast of Ireland. As 2020 quickly gave way to a year in which live events were put on hold, my partner Norma and I jumped at the chance to renovate a stunning home in my native Clare.
The goal was to create the perfect space for artists, writers, musicians and other creatives to work on their projects at their own pace in an environment that will hopefully play an important part in what they ultimately conjure up.
After a few summer months of putting it all together, I got to try it out for myself. I can tell you first-hand that this is a truly inspiring place. I can’t wait to see what people come away with.
